Wow... It has been a crazy-busy year for New McPherson. From April to July we travelled across Australia making 12 short films about Australia's First Families of Wine, a collection of some of Australia's greatest wine producers. We had an amazing experience - and have subsequently become quite picky about our vino - working with the families to create a series of memorable films which were presented to media and VIPs at their launch at the Sydney Opera House in August. You can see all the films at www.affw.com.au, but in the meantime, here's a few of our favourites.
Australia's First Families of Wine
Tyrrell's: the New McPherson boys finally found out what Semillon is all about... it's delicious
Tahbilk: Check out their Marsanne - lovely stuff.
Brown Brothers: Ross Brown was a great host, knocking the top off a hard to find bottle of his '97 Nebbiolo.
Clearly we hadn't done enough travelling, because no sooner had we finished the AFFW job, we began filming the finalist films for the 2009 WorkSafe Awards. Working with the Graffiti Group and director Mark Campbell we had a great time on the road travelling all over the state capturing inspirational stories about workplace safety and innovation. After trekking from Mildura to Waurn Ponds and everywhere else in between, the films were presented at very glitzy awards ceremony at the Crown Palladium. It was without out a doubt the slickest show we have been involved with: well done to Grey Group's Graffiti and Trumpet Events.
2009 WorkSafe Awards: Finalist Films
They've got trams in Bendigo: I really had no idea - there you go
And the winner is: Dan won an award for this innovation. You wouldn't know it, but it was blowing a gale at Flemington when we filmed this.
Clever transport: That's some clever engineering. All the films were filmed in three hours or less.
